Elevator modernization made easier
- Review existing contract: this first step will uncover any contractual limitations that may have been included by your elevator service company with respect to who can modernize your elevator and replace obsolete parts. This will help to increase the power to negotiate pricing based on when the elevator contract is due for renewal. It will also identify the current elevator technology which will be modernized.
- Explain options: depending on the type of the elevator, there are different options available regarding what to modernize and when. Phased modernizations can be particularly useful at helping to manage cost budgets over multiple years.
- Needs assessment: as part of the R.E.N.E.W. process, it’s important to understand how the elevator is currently functioning and what are the client’s priorities. We will conduct a survey to find out from the owner of the elevator how the elevator is being used and concerns that need to be addressed.
- Engineer a specification: we will create a performance specification that will be sent to local, high quality elevator companies that defines exactly what is required so they can provide a proposal with pricing to perform the elevator modernization.
- Weigh the benefits: when the proposals have been received, we will then review and compare each proposal using a tabular approach to show clearly the key differences and advantages of each offer. We will then provide a final recommendation on which company to select for the elevator modernization project.
